These rich, chocolatey energy balls are naturally sweetened with dates and packed with the goodness of tahini. You can keep them simple or add fermented fruit for a gut-friendly twist! Purely Nourishing: Date and Tahini Cacoa Balls with Fermented Food Recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 250g dried dates

  • 100g fermented Blueberries (or any fermented fruit – optional)

  • 175g tahini

  • 50g cacao powder

METHOD:

  • Combine ingredients: In a food processor, add the dried dates, tahini, cacao powder, and fermented fruit (if using).

  • Blend until the mixture comes together as a large ball. You want most of the big pieces blended smooth, but leaving a few larger chunks adds a delicious texture.

  • Transfer the mixture to the fridge and chill for about an hour. This makes it easier to roll the balls.

  • Roll into balls:

  • Once chilled, roll the mixture into small balls using your hands.

Optional – Roll in Cacoa, desiccated coconut or for an extra indulgent treat, melt some dark chocolate and dip the balls in it. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt before the chocolate sets for a delicious contrast.

Store:

Keep the energy balls in an airtight container in the fridge. They’re best enjoyed straight from the fridge!
